Darryl Campbell has been employed with the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections (DPS&C) for the past 28 years. Beginning his career at Elayn Hunt Correctional Center (EHCC) in the Reception and Diagnostic Center as a Classification Officer. He has worked as a Classification Supervisor as well as the Executive Management Officer for EHCC where he was responsible for Policy and Procedures, Offender Posted Policy and he served as the facilities Accreditation Manager for the American Correctional Association’s (ACA) standards compliance.
In February 2011, Mr. Campbell was promoted to the Secretary’s Office at the Department’s Headquarters location to serve as the Administrator for the Sex Offender Assessment Panel (SOAP). In August 2016, he returned to EHCC as the Assistant Warden for Administration.
He also volunteers as a facilitator with the Department’s Victim Offender Dialogue program. Mr. Campbell has maintained professional certification by the American Correctional Association since 2008, which requires re-certification every three years. He is member of the American Correctional Association, the Louisiana Correctional Association, the Louisiana Association of Wardens, the Southern States Correctional Association, and the North American Association of Warden’s and Superintendents. He is also an advisory board member for Keep Louisiana Beautiful, a Keep America Beautiful affiliate.
