Our Vision

Our vision is to ensure the correctional professionals of Louisiana’s criminal justice system are provided opportunities for professional development and are recognized for their contributions to the State of Louisiana.

Our Mission

To enhance the continuum of the criminal justice field in Louisiana by focusing on the enrichment of the criminal justice professionals through an association of persons, agencies and organizations who contribute to the criminal justice system.

We seek to support the sustainability of a criminal justice system in Louisiana where individuals are held accountable and where prevention and deterrence to crime are critical components to the reduction in the utilization of incarceration.

Objectives of the Association

To provide an organization representative of public and private agencies and those individuals engaged in work related to the field of corrections.

To secure cooperative and concentrated action upon questions affecting the interest of all correctional workers in Louisiana.

To promote networking of public and private agencies and individuals engaged in the criminal justice profession and closely related fields.

To design worthwhile programs to allow for the improvement of the image and welfare of the correctional worker in Louisiana.

To facilitate public awareness of professional efforts for the improvement of criminal justice services through seminars, workshops, conferences, and other educational activities.

To stimulate the continuation of education and to enhance the performance of the criminal justice employees.

To promote the code of ethics and standards for professional conduct in the field of criminal justice.

To promote coordination of criminal justice and correctional services on a statewide basis to enable increased efficiency.

To continue to promote the American Correctional Association, including membership benefits and accreditation efforts in the Louisiana correctional system.
